The New York Festivals 2024 Radio Awards spotlight the world's finest audio storytellers with the announcement of its Storytellers Gala Shortlist. Creators from every corner of the world have seen their work recognized, and the victorious will be honored at a virtual ceremony on April 16, at the Storytellers Gala.

This year's exciting shortlist features a diverse lineup, crossing various genres such as audiobooks, podcasts, dramas, documentaries, news, entertainment, and music. These productions hail from different platforms including radio stations, networks, production companies, as well as independent audio creators.

Entertainment and Documentaries Stand Out

The entertainment nominees offer a rich variety. Entries like Hamlet Noir and Q with Tom Power: Interview with Mick Jagger, along with Gold Minds with Kevin Hart illustrate the eclectic mix of categories and listeners targeted. Additionally, productions such as The Thief at St Nicholas Academy, Eclectica – Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon – 50th Anniversary Special, and Crazy Kiwi Christmas Kids Show are equally noteworthy in their appeal.

Documentaries submitted to the awards also stand out, with compelling stories including works like The Beatles' Legacy: Red and Blue and Deep Listening: Whale Culture, Interspecies Communication, and Knowing Your Place, showcasing radio's unique ability to explore deep and engrossing stories.

Over 200 industry experts formed the international jury that reviewed the entries, applying criteria such as production quality, originality, how content is presented, and whether it engages its audience.
