Diverse Performances Light Up Doudna Fine Arts Center This Semester
The Doudna Fine Arts Center at Eastern is set to host an eclectic array of shows this semester, promising entertainment for all tastes. An impressive lineup, including a 15-time Grammy nominee, a globally-acclaimed Celtic rock ensemble, and various student performances, will grace the stages, offering a feast of arts and culture.
Star-Studded Lineup
The season kicks off with Kashmir, the celebrated Led Zeppelin tribute band, taking the stage in the Dvorak Concert Hall on January 19. Other renowned acts scheduled to perform include the 15-time Grammy nominee Fred Hersch at the 64th Annual EIU Jazz Festival on February 2, and the high-energy Chicago Tap Theatre on February 17. Additionally, audiences can look forward to performances by singer-songwriter Marielle Kraft on March 2, and the innovative wind quintet WindSync on March 28.
Celtic Rock and Student Talent
As the semester progresses, excitement builds for the Red Hot Chili Pipers' show on April 6. Known for their unique blend of traditional Celtic music with rock elements, the nine-member band promises an electrifying finale to the premier events of the semester. Meanwhile, the talent of Eastern students will be showcased in a variety of theatre productions, including the EIU Dancers Spring Concert, the innovative comedy 'Dead Man’s Cell Phone,' the intimate musical 'John and Jen,' and the dynamic New Works Symposium.

The music department at Eastern will also contribute to the semester's events with multiple concerts featuring the Eastern Symphony Orchestra, EIU Wind Symphony, and Jazz Ensemble, among others.
