CJ Cultural Foundation Boosts Emerging Talent in Music, Film, and Theater

The CJ Cultural Foundation is currently inviting submissions from emerging artists looking to break into the entertainment industry. In a concerted effort to nurture talent, the foundation is focusing on supporting independent musicians, short film directors, and theatrical creators who often face challenges gaining recognition.

Empowering Indie Musicians

As part of its 'Tune Up' program, the foundation is accepting music files or videos from budding music artists until March 20. The selected six musicians will be announced on May 27, and will receive up to 25 million won (about $18,700) each for album production, alongside opportunities to join international festivals such as KCON. Moreover, the winners will benefit from solo concert arrangements, global tour support, and master classes tailored to enhancing their international performance and promotional skills.

Nurturing Short Film Directors

Short film producers have the chance to submit their applications for the 'Story Up' program until March 4. After the selection process concludes on April 18, six winners will receive up to 20 million won for production costs, mentorship with established film directors, and help in presenting their films at various film festivals both domestically and internationally.

Supporting Theatrical Creators

The 'Stage Up' initiative is open for theatrical creators to submit their projects, including synopses, scripts, and character descriptions, through March 11. The final selection announcement will be made on April 24, where three creators will each receive 10 million won and the chance to work with producers for further production support.
