Published March 21, 2024

The acclaimed Americana trio The Wood Brothers are gearing up to bring their vibrant live performance to fans at St. Louis Park’s Recreation Outdoor Center on July 15. A blend of folk, gospel, blues, and jazz, their sound promises to resonate through the diverse community space.

Ticket sales for the event kick off at 10 a.m. this Friday. General admission is priced at $32, and there is a special VIP option available for $75. Those eager to attend can secure their tickets via Etix.

A New Chapter for the Recreation Outdoor Center

The upcoming concert marks a significant milestone as the facility embraces a new wave of live music from nationally touring bands. Already a hub for various activities, the center entertains guests with sports in both winter and summer, hosts community events like the spring egg hunt, and even accommodates the Minnesota Wild for outdoor hockey practice. Cultural celebrations such as the annual Juneteenth, as well as art fairs and home and garden expos, are part of its year-round offerings.

About The Wood Brothers

Originating from a rich musical background, brothers Chris (upright bass) and Oliver (acoustic and electric guitar) Wood, alongside multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, have created a unique sonic experience. Oliver once played with Tinsley Ellis’s touring ensemble, while Chris co-founded the notable jazz fusion outfit Medeski Martin and Wood. In 2001, after a decade and a half of individual pursuits, the siblings united onstage, subsequently deciding to form a permanent act. Jano Rix joined the group before the release of their 2013 album ‘The Muse.’ Their latest studio album, ‘Heart is the Hero,’ was unveiled in April 2023.
