Longmont Creatives to Shine at Local Holiday Variety Show
A diverse group of Longmont creatives, including authors and filmmakers, are preparing to astonish audiences at the upcoming 'The Momedy Club: Escape from the Holidays' variety show. This event, orchestrated by the entertainment group Longmont Out Loud (LOL), will see a mix of 15 artists and performers taking the stage at the Longmont Museum's Stewart Auditorium this weekend.
A Medley of Local Talent
Among the talents are Longmont's own skilled individuals. One highlight is writer Lisa Trank, who will share three personal essays and will conclude her act with a Hanukkah-themed piece, aligning with the show's festive spirit. With her history in performing arts, Trank sees the show as an opportunity to merge her writing with her performing skills.
Longmont's filmmaker Katrina Miller will also contribute to the event, showcasing two of her music videos, 'Flame' and 'New Me,' that carry strong messages about racial equity and community strength. These works represent her commitment to empowerment and hope, targeting a message of unity and resilience.
Event Details and Artist Expectations
The event is set to take place at 7:30 p.m. both on Friday and Saturday, providing an opportunity for community members to enjoy the local art scene. Trank aims to foster connections through laughter, considering the world's stress, while Miller is excited to present her empowering work in her own community.
Both artists anticipate a warm reception from the audience, as they present their creative efforts aiming to celebrate, inspire, and unify their local audience at this special holiday event.
