Athenaeum Music & Arts Library Celebrates with Festive Holiday Party
The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla showcased its festive spirit with the much-anticipated annual holiday party on December 2nd. Members and their guests were treated to an evening of heartwarming carols led by pianist Sammy Pistritto, creating a delightful ambiance to kick off the holiday celebrations.
Enchanting Evening of Melodies and Treats
The event featured the harmonious melodies of live jazz, combined with the traditional seasonal offerings of eggnog and a variety of sweets. Attendees were not only audibly entertained but also visually captivated by the enchanting holiday decor.
A Display of Village Charm
The charm of a European-style village, a traditional Christmas display, adorned the Athenaeum, and Girard Gourmet’s annual cookie village greeted guests upon entry, adding to the magical holiday atmosphere. The highlight of the seasonal decoration was the 'Weaglydorf,' a splendid village of Swiss-made miniatures, graciously donated by Anna Weagly and showcased at the Athenaeum each holiday season.
The guests, captured in a series of photographs, included both the library's esteemed members and its dedicated leaders like board President Louis Lupin and Executive Director Christie Mitchell, among others, all partaking in the joyous celebrations. The snapshots offer a visual journey through the merriment of the night, underscoring the vibrant community spirit that the Athenaeum fosters throughout the year.
