The South Iceland Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Þykkvabær

The sports hall in Þykkvabær will come alive with energy and excitement on Saturday, December 9th, at 4:00 PM, as the South Iceland Symphony Orchestra holds a grand concert under the baton of conductor Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson.

Vibrant Performances Await

The event will feature the talents of soprano Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir and tenor Gissur Páll Gissurarson. In addition, there will be a festive chorus of over 70 men and women, comprised of singers from 7 church choirs in the Rangá region. Altogether, the concert will showcase 117 performers, promising an afternoon of rich musical experience.

A Blend of Classical Talent

The South Iceland Symphony Orchestra is a classical ensemble formed of professional instrumentalists from the southern region of Iceland. Importantly, the event will also cater to the community's social appetite, as the women's association of Þykkvabær will be offering refreshments during the concert.
