Intimate Concert Series Begins at Willits Center for the Arts

On the evening of December 16th, at 7 p.m., the Willits Center for the Arts invites the community to 'A Rare Intimate Evening Concert with Spencer Brewer and Friends.' This special event marks the beginning of a new concert series that celebrates the center's new grand piano and supports the arts within Willits. Attendees can expect an exclusive performance by accomplished composer and pianist Spencer Brewer, who is returning to the local stage after a break from performing. At this benefit concert, Brewer will be hosting a slate of distinguished musicians who are generously sharing their talents without charge to aid the center.

Featured Musicians of the Night

The musical lineup for the evening boasts exceptional talent, including the acclaimed Mendocino Piano Quartet, known for their distinguished musical careers and Grammy nominations. Piano aficionado Ben Rueb, esteemed for his virtuosic piano skills and deep knowledge of classical music, will grace the stage. Accompanying them are musical veterans such as cellist Joel Cohen, previously with the Vienna Symphony, violist Paul Yarborough from the Alexander String Quartet, and principal violist Jeff Ives, who recently received a standing ovation for his new symphony performance.

Dr. Wenbo Yin is set to captivate the audience with his remarkable saxophone mastery, covering jazz and classical pieces, including a stunning rendition of Paganini’s Moto Perpetuo. Yin's prowess is recognized with recent performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall alongside renowned jazz artists.
