As the warm breeze brings in the summer vibe, Stratford's King Edward Park prepares to become the hub of entertainment with its annual film screenings and live music extravaganza. Known for attracting crowds each season, the park is set to host these events on January 27 and February 10, making for unforgettable 'Summer Nights'.

Community's Choice: Shrek and Mamma Mia

In an engaging community-driven decision, the public cast their votes for the movies they wanted to see. The outcome saw family-favorite Shrek and the sing-along sensation Mamma Mia come out on top. These movies will light up the outdoor screen on January 27, first with Shrek at 4pm, followed by Mamma Mia at 5.45pm.

Taranaki Talents Take Center Stage

Falling under the spell of the musical muse, February 10 will showcase the melodious might of Taranaki artists. Kicking off at 5pm, Mitch and his Guitar promises a soothing acoustic set. The musical journey takes an energetic turn as The Mara ascends the stage, blending alternative rock with global beats. This is your invitation to dance the night away in the park to the invigorating performance by this local band.

While serenading the senses, there will be an assortment of food and drink options available for purchase, although, guests are welcomed and encouraged to pack their ideal picnic spread. Although furry friends must stay at home, the events are open to all, promising two evenings of delightful entertainment beneath the rhododendrons of King Edward Park.
