Ottawa's Hip-Hop Talents to Perform in New York City Showcase

Published January 12, 2024

Three up-and-coming Ottawa hip-hop artists are about to embark on a thrilling journey to New York City. Their goal? To present their musical creations to Parks Vallely, renowned for his role as a co-host on The Joe Budden Podcast, a platform celebrated in the hip-hop community. This exposure is key for the artists, who are at the dawn of their careers and looking for a big break.

Chasing Dreams in the Big Apple

The young talents, which include English rapper S-Realz, rapper Lia Kloud, and R&B singer Emma Gabriel, have been honing their skills within FRMLA, a development program led by Luigi 'City' Fidelia, an established producer/rapper from Ottawa. The initiative, functioning out of House of Ensemble Studios, aims to sculpt the artists' talents and propel them into the dynamic world of music.

Music, Mentorship, and Big City Ambitions

The passionate musicians, selected through the FRMLA program, engaged in studio sessions and learned the ropes of the music industry, all while preparing for their ultimate test—performing in NYC. Despite the unknowns that lie ahead, the trio is going into the showcase with optimism, looking forward to the invaluable feedback and experience they'll gain as they step onto a grander stage.

A Supportive Path for Aspiring Artists

Fidelia's vision with FRMLA is to offer participants opportunities that weren't available to him during his rise in the music field. By providing a gateway to experiences like the New York showcase, Fidelia aims to support and elevate Ottawa's budding hip-hop talent on the international music scene.
