Published January 12, 2024

Fans of music and memorabilia collectors have the opportunity to bid on exclusive items from industry legends at the 2024 MusiCares Charity Relief Auction. Memorable pieces from Paul McCartney, the late Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, and guitar virtuoso Slash are among the treasures being auctioned. Scheduled for February 4, the auction coincides with the Grammy Awards ceremony on the same day.

Paul McCartney's Personalized Memorabilia

An autographed and personalized copy of Paul McCartney's book The Lyrics: 1965 to Present is one of the auction's highlights. The book, which documents McCartney's storied career and creative process, has already seen bids reaching $6,000.

Christine McVie's Cherished Piano

The auction features a rare Yamaha C3 baby grand piano, played by Christine McVie during iconic Fleetwood Mac performances from 1977 to 1997. Accompanying the piano is a DVD of the band's renowned 1997 concert special The Dance.

Slash's Signature Guitar

A distinctive green 2023 Gibson Les Paul guitar, signed by Slash and adorned with a sketch of his 'Skully' logo, is also drawing attention among rock enthusiasts. The guitar, complete with its original case and accessories, is estimated to sell for $6,000 to $8,000, with bids starting at $4,500.

More Coveted Collectibles

The auction doesn't stop there; over 40 items are up for grabs, including guitars signed by superstars such as Taylor Swift, Metallica's James Hetfield, and Garth Brooks. Signed CDs, vinyl LPs, and box sets from artists like Stevie Nicks and Foo Fighters are on the block, as are unique memorabilia like Lionel Richie's jacket and Pete Townshend's boots.

Supporting Musicians in Need

This year's live auction, allowing both physical and online participation, will take place at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Proceeds from the auction will go to MusiCares, the Recording Academy's charitable arm dedicated to providing crucial health and support services to musicians facing hard times.
