Rock Legends Billy Gibbons and Rick Nielsen to Receive Honors at Vegas Rocks! Awards

Rock icons Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick will be celebrated for their contributions to music at the upcoming 2024 Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards. Scheduled for January 21st, the event will take place at the Sam's Town Event Center in Las Vegas, marking a prestigious moment for these veterans of rock and roll.

Life Achievement Recognition

Both Gibbons and Nielsen will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement in Music Award, affirming their enduring impact on the rock scene. Joining them in this category are Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma from Blue Öyster Cult, as well as Winger's Kip Winger, each recognized for their significant musical legacies.

Additional Honorees

The awards ceremony will also pay tribute to other notable musicians. Rikki Rockett of Poison is set to receive the Outstanding Career Achievement in Music Award, while Bruce Kulick, known for his work with KISS and Grand Funk Railroad, will be bestowed with the Guitar Legend Award. Tim “Ripper” Owens, former Judas Priest vocalist, will receive the Voice of Metal Award, and Lizzy Borden will take home the Best Shock Rock Icon Award. Founded by Sally Steele, the editor-in-chief and publisher of Vegas Rocks! magazine, the Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards is an event that has been recognizing rock talent since its inception in 2010. The 2024 awards will also celebrate the magazine's 20th anniversary, adding a special note of commemoration to the occasion.

For Cheap Trick, the new year kicks off with prestigious gigs such as the Beatles on the Beach festival and later includes performances in Australia and several U.S. dates supporting Def Leppard and Journey on The Summer Stadium Tour.
