Over the weekend, Blackpool turned into a hotspot for Elvis Presley fans as impersonators from throughout the UK brought the spirit of the King of Rock 'n' Roll back to life. Participants clad in the familiar elaborate attires—reminiscent of Elvis's distinctive style—congregated for a three-day battle of performances in hopes of securing the title in the British Elvis tribute contest.

From March 15 to March 17, Viva Blackpool, the vibrant show venue was the battleground for impersonators striving to showcase their best renditions of Presley. From the iconic quiff to the signature hip swings, participants went to great lengths to deliver their most convincing acts, aiming to win a place in the finals in Memphis, Tennessee.

The contest titled 'If I Can Dream - The Great British Elvis Tribute Contest' saw a plethora of Presley performers, each vying for the crown as their fans cheered on. The event was not only a competition but also a celebration of Presley's legacy, drawing performers like Lee Alexander, who sported flamboyant flares and sideburns, and Jake Hughes and John Sheppard, each donning classic Elvis costumes.

Behind the Scenes of the King’s Lookalikes

Backstage bustled with excitement as performers like Karl Memphis, JP Leroy, and Lee Alexander put on their finishing touches. With every detail scrutinized—from their dazzling attire to their slick Pompadour hairstyles—the impersonators showed dedication to their craft. Meanwhile, fellow participants, including Steve Brookes and Alan Greer, impressed with their iconic white flares and high-collared jackets.

From Stage to Stardom

The tribute acts, which included JJ Shannon, Iain McKellar, and TC Memphis, delivered memorable performances, each channeling the King’s charisma in their stage acts. Faces such as Phoenix Dean, and Jake Hughes waited eagerly for their turn in the limelight.
