Lunenburg Library Launches Interactive Music Clinic Series

Published December 31, 2023

The Lunenburg Public Library is set to begin an engaging series of interactive performances and clinics on Saturday, Jan. 6, starting at 11 a.m. This educational initiative, spearheaded by local music teacher and performer Jason Graham, is aimed at musicians and enthusiasts of every skill level.

Music Education and Performance Merge

Jason Graham, a private guitar instructor, has highlighted a common desire among his students to connect with fellow musicians and gain experience playing in groups. To fulfill this need, he has partnered with the Lunenburg Public Library to create this monthly event, which merges education with live performance, offering a harmonious benefit to the community.

Diverse Musical Topics and Group Interactions

The sessions are set to cover a wide range of musical topics and techniques, catering to both novices and more experienced players. Lydia Gravell, the Assistant Library Director, explains that the series will feature performances illustrating various musical techniques and elements, promoting interaction and learning within the audience.

Participant Engagement and Practical Sessions

The format is structured to be conversational, with the initial hour dedicated to performance and the educational aspect, and a subsequent shorter slot reserved for group interaction. Participants are encouraged to bring their guitars and engage in a communal jam session, allowing them to discuss and address specific queries or concerns pertaining to their instrument and skills.

Event Details and Future Sessions

The Lunenburg Public Library, which is located at 1023 Massachusetts Ave, invites interested individuals to register for these clinic series, though walk-ins are also welcome.
