Oasis Ticket Cancellations Announced for Fans
The promoters of the upcoming Oasis reunion concerts have announced plans to start cancelling tickets that violate the agreed terms and conditions. This move aims to ensure that fans do not purchase tickets from unauthorised sources.
According to the promoters of the Oasis Live ’25 tour, they are currently reviewing ticket sales, and findings will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies where necessary. This decision comes after concerns about the resale of tickets by secondary ticketing companies, where prices have skyrocketed.
It has been noted that any tickets that are cancelled will become available again for purchase through Ticketmaster at the original face value. Fans are strongly encouraged to avoid buying tickets from unauthorised websites, as these may not be genuine and could lead to cancellations.
Noel and Liam Gallagher will be reuniting for the first time since their separation in 2009 at the Rock en Seine festival in France. Their 2025 tour will include performances in various cities, including Manchester, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, along with a tour in the US, Canada, and Australia.
A spokesperson for the tour praised the measures being taken to restrict ticket sales, stating that only 4% of tickets have ended up on resale sites, a significant reduction compared to major tours where up to 20% are typically seen on unauthorized platforms.
The reunion tour has created a massive buzz, leading to tickets being listed on resale sites for exorbitant prices, with some standing passes costing between £596 and £1,162, and VIP passes reaching £2,614. This surge in demand has sparked controversy, prompting discussions about dynamic pricing among lawmakers.
During the initial ticket sales, fans were encouraged to only buy from official resellers like Ticketmaster and the official resale partner, Twickets, to avoid cancellations and fraud. Those who believe their tickets were cancelled in error are advised to check their email notifications for clarifications from the ticket agents.
In addition, it has been announced that the Britpop group Cast will join Oasis as the second opening act for all 19 shows in the UK and Ireland, with frontman John Power expressing excitement for the reunion and the opportunity to perform in Dublin.
