12-Hour DJ Marathon to Support Muff Locals Fighting Cancer

Published January 30, 2024

In a heartfelt demonstration of community support, Muff's own DJ Oisin McLaughlin, popularly known as Ois Bosh, is preparing for a musical marathon to aid two local men confronting cancer. On the coming Thursday, February 1st, Ois Bosh pledges to deliver a nonstop 12-hour DJ performance online. His goal is not just to entertain but to gather funds for Evan Craig, 23, and Peter Rutherford, 32, who have both been recently diagnosed with this challenging disease.

A Change of Heart for a Good Cause

Ois had initially set his sights on holding his yearly fundraiser event in support of Focus Ireland. However, the recent cancer diagnoses of two well-known individuals from Muff prompted a change of plans. McLaughlin expressed that assisting these 'lads' in their times of need was the appropriate action, acknowledging his own community's role in his music career ascent over the past seven years.

The live DJ set will take place at Full Tilt Studios in Letterkenny and be broadcasted on TikTok, where Ois Bosh has gained notoriety for his 'SUPA SUNDAYS' weekly show. He has already gained support from many local establishments offering prizes and vouchers for a raffle aimed at hitting a €1,000 fundraising target.

Businesses like the Orchard Inn, Belfry Restaurant, Pulse Letterkenny, and Zest Fitness Studio, among others, are contributing to this cause. McLaughlin is hopeful that with the help of his 'Boshers'—the name he affectionately uses for his fanbase—the event will not only reach but exceed the goal.

To support this philanthropic effort, donations can be directed to the GoFundMe page, or through links provided on Ois' social media profiles on Instagram and TikTok.

Everyone is invited to tune into the charity DJ set that begins at 11 am on the 1st of February, through Ois Bosh's TikTok account.
