Soul Brothers Cancel Their Upcoming Performance in Zimbabwe Due to Promoters' Alleged Fraud
The well-known music group, The Soul Brothers, has officially withdrawn their commitment to perform at the Ziyakhala Music Festival scheduled to take place at the White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Zimbabwe's Unity Day. A formal announcement has been disseminated to the public clarifying their non-attendance at the highly anticipated event.
Reasons for Cancellation Revealed
In a press release, Moses Ngwenya, the frontman of the Soul Brothers, shed light on the band's cancellation decision. The blame has been placed on the event promoters, Imithente Projects, labeling them as 'untrustworthy and fraudulent.' The band enumerated that its stipulated needs were not met by the organizers, despite having been given enough time to fulfill the agreed conditions.
Apology to Fans and Accusations Against Promoters
Ngwenya conveyed his disappointments and addressed the band's followers, "It is with great regret to inform our loyal Soul Brothers fans that we will not be performing any shows in Zimbabwe this December as announced. This is due to these deceptive promoters known as ‘Imithente Projects' not meeting any of the requirements set by the Soul Brothers band although they had ample time to do so." Furthermore, the statement accused the promoters of false advertising, suggesting that they had promoted the show and initiated ticket sales without having a solid agreement in place with the band.
The Impact on Ziyakhala Music Festival
The sudden withdrawal of the Soul Brothers, who were expected to be the main act at the festival, has undoubtedly created a significant gap in the event program. However, festival goers can still anticipate performances by other celebrated artists including Khuphuka Shongwe Saved Group, Insimbi ZeZhwane, Zinjaziyamluma, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Lindokuhle Mkhize, and Mandla Dube. Representatives of the Ziyakhala Music Festival have been caught off-guard by this development and are addressing the challenge of proceeding without the Soul Brothers.
Despite this hiccup, the narratives shaping the Ziyakhala Music Festival continue to unfold, and further updates on the situation are expected.
