The organizers of the much-anticipated Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival have proudly announced an impressive lineup of performers for this year's celebration. This festival is renowned for featuring a blend of local and international talent and is set to offer an unforgettable experience from April 30 to May 12.

A Gathering of Music Legends

Among the star-studded artists set to take the stage are Grammy-award winning Babyface, the charismatic Jon Secada, reggae great Beres Hammond, and soca star Machel Montano. Rising talents such as Joe Boy and Romain Virgo will join local reggae sensation Meshack, promising a rich musical journey for attendees.

Local Talent and Cultural Celebration

Before the grand event, a showcasing of local entertainment set the stage for excitement. Guests were welcomed by an enchanting performance featuring young musicians on the saxophone and violin. Also, pianist Nintus, through a video performance, and accompanying dancers infused the atmosphere with a soulful Creole tune.

Dr. Ernest Hilaire, the Tourism Minister, emphasized the economic and cultural importance of the festival in his opening speech. He celebrated the 30-year history of the event as a beacon of artistic and community development, stating it has become a cultural extravaganza that transcends time through art and music.

Global Media Launch and Community Jazz

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority is set to enhance the festival's international appeal with a global media campaign. Darwin Guard from the Cultural Development Foundation highlighted the importance of community jazz events and expressed a focus on youth training and arts for this year's festival.

Llewyn Xavier, a noted contemporary artist, is also slated to contribute to the Arts side of the festival with a presentation of his artworks.

Jazz Purity and Artistic Creativity

Two pure jazz events are in store for hardcore jazz fans, revealed Thaddeus Antoine, Chairman of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. He stressed the inclusive nature of the festival which blends emerging talents with established artists, enriching the festival experience and fostering a legacy of creativity.

Among many astounding local acts at the launch, blending jazz with Creole rhythms, the Jessie Billy Trio performed, and guest performer Romain Virgo gave the audience a sneak peek into the festival with some of his hit songs.
