Robby Krieger, best remembered as one of the founders and key songwriters for the iconic rock band The Doors, played a pivotal role in penning classics such as Love Me Two Times and Touch Me. His contributions helped propel The Doors into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The group eventually dissolved after releasing two albums post the passing of their charismatic frontman Jim Morrison in 1971. Krieger, however, continued his musical journey and is now gearing up for a fresh release with his new group, The Soul Savages.

His latest endeavor was brought to life in Love Street Studios, located in Glendale, California, which Krieger has been operating for the last six to seven years. Speaking about the new album, Krieger shared his excitement on working with musicians of exceptional caliber who've previously collaborated with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Lenny Kravitz, to name a few. He expressed, 'The amazing talent that played on this album has that deep-seated groove that’s rooted in their vast experiences.'

Robby Krieger and The Soul Savages' Creative Exploration

Exploring various musical avenues, Krieger reflected on his past endeavors while also looking ahead to new challenges. He mentioned, 'Working with The Soul Savages reminded me of the musical styles I've touched upon previously and has encouraged me to stretch my boundaries. For instance, I've expanded my slide guitar work over jazz, funk, and soul- something I had not done before. It's all about the constant evolution of my music.' Krieger's innovative approach is a testament to his unwavering passion for music and growth.

A Glimpse into the Upcoming Album

With the album's release set for January 19, 2024, Krieger recently premiered a music video for the track Samosas And Kingfishers. The video gives a sneak peek of what to expect from the complete studio work, showcasing hints of psychedelic influences. Krieger expressed his hope that the music will resonate strongly with listeners upon the album's arrival.

Robby Krieger's Collaboration with Hollywood's Own

In anticipation of the new album, Krieger has also made headlines for his collaboration with acclaimed actor Dennis Quaid. Playing together on stage was an especially significant event as it took place at the Whisky a Go Go, a venue with historical ties to The Doors. The experience was a notable moment for Quaid, who cherished the opportunity to perform alongside a rock legend.
