Peak into Boulder's Weekend Festivities

Welcome to a day filled with festive cheer and community events in Boulder this Saturday, Dec. 16. The city is brimming with activities that cater to a diverse range of interests, from live music to traditional holiday commemorations. There's a little something for everyone looking to indulge in the seasonal spirit.

Boulder County Jingle Jam

For music enthusiasts, The Velvet Elk Lounge is the place to be at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Here, Boulder County's talented lineup of bluegrass, Americana, and country musicians will join forces for a holiday revue like no other. Expect an evening filled with unique instrumental renditions, classic holiday tunes, and a plethora of guest artists from the local scene. In the spirit of giving, all ticket proceeds will aid Sister Carmen, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those in need in the surrounding communities. Entry is set at $25 per person.

Wreaths Across America

In the morning at 10 a.m., the Louisville Cemetery will host a heartfelt event where individuals gather to honor veterans by placing wreaths on their graves. This act of remembrance during the holiday season unites the community and pays respect to those who served our country. Both free and paid participation options are available.

Skate with Santa

Family fun is on the ice at Sport Stable Ice Rink starting at noon, where children can skate alongside Santa Claus. Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be served, with arts and crafts activities provided. Although free, event organizers recommend an RSVP to ensure a spot.

Natural Highs Winter Craft Market

The Museum of Boulder transforms into a marketplace at 1 p.m. for a craft fair promoting local artisans and offering a range of handmade products. Alongside shopping, the market also highlights Natural Highs, an initiative supporting teen mental health and advocating for substance-free living.

Music by the Hearth

End the day with an intimate house concert at 6 p.m. featuring Rebecca Folsom and her special guests. They will present an array of original songs coupled with festive favorites. Tickets for this cozy musical gathering are available at $20 each.
