Birding and Gardening Highlights This Sunday

Published February 14, 2024

This Sunday provides a fantastic opportunity for the community to engage with nature and permaculture, with two significant events scheduled. The Redwood Region Audubon Society is set to guide a free birding tour along the Eureka Waterfront Trail from 9 to 11 a.m. Ralph Bucher, the tour leader, will guide participants through the trail, offering a chance to spot an array of birds and perhaps the odd otter enjoying a dip.

Spot Birds in Urban Spaces

The tour promises the excitement of observing wildlife like cormorants, loons, grebes, and even diving otters, in a setting surprisingly rich in biodiversity, despite its urban surroundings. The trail is flat and paved, making it wheelchair accessible, and ideal for birdwatchers of all levels of experience. Interested parties should reach out to the tour leader at the provided email to sign up for the field trip.

Discover Permaculture at Seed Exchange

On the same day, the Humboldt Permaculture Guild invites the community to its annual \birding, gardening, community
