International Musicians Gear Up to Wow Fans in South Korea

Published January 22, 2024

This year, South Korea will experience an infusion of international music as several overseas artists are slated to perform for local audiences. Among them is the iconic Canadian funk rock outfit Sum 41, which is preparing to bid farewell to the music scene with their final world tour.

Sum 41's Grand Finale

Sum 41's journey began in 1996 and swiftly gained momentum with their first studio hit album, 'All Killer No Filler,' in 2001. The band is acclaimed for tracks such as 'Still Waiting,' 'Make No Difference,' and 'Underclass Hero.' After a long absence, they're returning to Seoul for the first time in 16 years, marking a poignant stop on their 'Tour of the Setting Sum.' The band's concert in Seoul is their closing act, as they've announced their intent to disband, with performances at Yes24 Live Hall set for February 27 and 28.

MAX: Blending Voices with K-Pop

The American singer-songwriter MAX, or Maxwell George Schneider, is returning to Korea as part of his world tour. Known for his rich voice and modern sound, MAX has notably collaborated with Korean artists, including BTS' Suga and TXT. He is also releasing a new album 'Love In Stereo' where Huh Yunjin of Le Sserafim features on a track. His performance is eagerly anticipated on March 30 at Myunghua Live Hall.

King Gnu's Korean Debut

Adding to the J-pop excitement in Korea, the Japanese band King Gnu will hold their first Korean concert as part of their Asia tour 'The Greatest Unknown.' Known for their distinctive approach that integrates rock, jazz, hip-hop, and classical music, King Gnu has risen to prominence, especially after selling out tickets for their concerts at Japan's biggest arenas. They will perform at Olympic Hall on April 20, much to the delight of local J-pop enthusiasts.
