Long Beach Symphony Celebrates Fleetwood Mac and More in Upcoming Performances

Fans of the iconic band Fleetwood Mac are in for a treat as the Long Beach Symphony orchestrates a musical tribute to the group's classic hits. In an event titled 'Landslide: A Tribute to the Music of Fleetwood Mac,' audiences will experience the beloved songs with a full symphonic sound.

The band, having started in the late 1960s, is celebrated for transforming rock and pop with albums that presented seamless listening experiences. This performance is set to weave personal struggles of band members into immersive renditions of songs like 'Gypsy,' 'Dreams,' and 'Landslide.'

The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mark Alpizar, will also encourage concertgoers to dance with installed dance floors and relax with indoor picnicking options during the show on March 23 at the Long Beach Arena.

Fleetwood Mac's Symphonic Tribute

This unique musical evening offers attendees a vibrant atmosphere to dance and sing along with the orchestra's live rendition of Fleetwood Mac's timeless music. The event promises an energetic experience starting at 6:30 p.m., with the performance beginning at 8 p.m.

Choral Emotions at 'The Lighthouse Keeper'

A week earlier, on March 15, choral enthusiasts will have the chance to witness the premiere of 'The Lighthouse Keeper.' Composed by Jake Runestad, it will be performed by the Cal State Long Beach University Choir and Chamber Choir. The composition explores themes of solitude, duty, and human connection.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, adding an emotionally rich layer to Long Beach's vibrant music scene.

Bach Fest 2024's Baroque Reveries

Bach lovers can look forward to Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra's 'St. Matthew Passion' during Bach Fest 2024. Scheduled for March 23 and 24, the fest will feature lectures and recitals, culminating in the renowned oratorio at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, led by music director Martin Haselböck.
