Firerose Comments on Ex-Husband Billy Ray Cyrus After Troubling Performance

Published January 24, 2025

Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife Firerose has shared her thoughts regarding the country singer following a concerning performance at President Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball in Washington, D.C. earlier this week.

Cyrus, 63, took the stage for a performance that fans have described as an "epic disaster" due to his visible frustration caused by technical difficulties.

In a statement to People, Firerose, 36, expressed her feelings, stating, "What’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship." She added that it is unfortunate to witness Cyrus's struggles continue but emphasized that "the truth is coming to light — for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem." Firerose mentioned that she is focusing on her own faith, music, and healing while aiming to inspire others.

Cyrus and Firerose were married for seven months before finalizing their divorce in August 2024. During the divorce proceedings, both parties made serious allegations against each other, including physical and emotional abuse.

Firerose's comments come shortly after Cyrus’s son, Trace Cyrus, wrote an open letter urging his father to seek help, voicing his concern about his father’s well-being. Trace noted that it is evident to everyone but Cyrus himself that he is struggling, and in the letter, he stated, "You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point." Trace also relayed that his sister, Noah Cyrus, 24, desired a relationship with their father, but he has not engaged with her.

In his letter, Trace expressed heartfelt concern, stating that he is genuinely worried about his father’s health and emphasized his love and willingness to help. "I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help," he wrote.

During the Liberty Ball performance, Cyrus appeared to struggle with his equipment, questioning if his guitar was working. He expressed his frustration to the crowd, at one point asking, "Y’all want me to sing more or you just want me to get the hell off the stage? I don’t give a damn." After some technical help, he attempted to continue performing but eventually left the stage with the assistance of the crew.

Following the event, Cyrus took to Instagram, stating that he had “a blast” at the Liberty Ball, stating his commitment to entertain regardless of technical failures. He concluded with, "That’s called rock n roll." As of now, Cyrus has not publicly responded to Firerose’s comments.
