Highlights from the 13th Circle Chart Music Awards

The 13th Circle Chart Music Awards was a gala of glitter and glory, as it shined a spotlight on the year's most impactful South Korean music artists. Held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, the awards saw superlative talents being recognized for their musical contributions from December 2022 to November 2023.

Big Winners of the Night

Among the luminaries, NewJeans emerged as the ceremony’s standouts, sweeping four prestigious awards. They were hailed as Artist of the Year in multiple categories including Digital, Global Streaming, and Unique Listeners, along with securing the Music Steady Seller of the Year title.

Girl groups were not far behind, with (G)I-DLE and IVE each grabbing three awards. NiziU and LE SSERAFIM also made their presence felt by bagging two awards each.

Boy groups made their mark as well, with NCT Dream taking home three awards, including the coveted Digital Album of the Year. SEVENTEEN matched this tally with trophies for Artist of the Year (Album), Retail Album of the Year, and KiT Album of the Year. BTS’ Jungkook also struck gold thrice, proving his solo prowess alongside his group’s legacy.

Standout Awards

The Rookie of the Year categories saw fresh talent in ZEROBASEONE and BABYMONSTER receiving accolades for their impactful debuts. The night also celebrated icons like Hwasa and STAYC, who were recognized as the new icons of the year, while AKMU was awarded the Social Hot Star of the Year and Busan Is Good Award along with KyoungSeo.

Other categories celebrated included genres ranging from Ballad to Trot and J-Pop with artists like Parc Jae-jung, Lee Chan-won, and imase standing out. In the international arena, Charlie Puth won the Song of the Year in International Pop, solidifying the reach of the event.

Behind the scenes talents were also spotlighted, with awards going out to the best in composing, lyrics, performance direction, visual direction, and more, highlighting the intricate craft that goes into producing cherished music.
