Ozzy Osbourne Returns to the Stage for 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Published October 21, 2024

Ozzy Osbourne's strong desire to perform again has come true, albeit in a limited capacity. On October 19, during the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Ozzy joined the celebration as fellow musicians paid tribute to his remarkable career.

Osbourne's previous induction was with the legendary band Black Sabbath, and this time he was honored for his solo achievements, which was met with an enthusiastic response from the crowd.

During the special tribute performance, featured artists included Maynard James Keenan of Tool, who took on the classic "Crazy Train," accompanied by Wolfgang Van Halen on guitar, Chad Smith on drums, Robert Trujillo on bass, Andrew Watt on rhythm guitar, and Adam Wakeman on keyboards. Additionally, Jelly Roll and Zakk Wylde performed the emotional anthem "Mama, I’m Coming Home," while Wylde concluded the evening with a powerful guitar solo of "No More Tears." Throughout the event, Ozzy was seen enjoying the performances and singing along.

In his heartfelt speech at the ceremony, Ozzy expressed gratitude to those who voted for his induction. He shared, "F*cking love you guys. Well, here we are. You know what? I can’t believe I’m here myself. Let me get the thank yous out of the way, because I’m not going to bore you with a long, drawn-out f*cking monologue. I’d like to thank whoever voted me into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for my solo work. A great thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." He added a special mention for his loyal fans, the musicians he has collaborated with over the years, and particularly Randy Rhoads, who played a significant role in his career. Ozzy also conveyed love for his wife Sharon and their family, stating, "Saved my life. And my grandbabies and my babies. I love them all."

The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was streamed live on Disney+, and there will be a special broadcast of the performances on ABC on January 1, followed by availability on Hulu.
