Tate McRae Goes Sheer in Rhinestoned Alaïa Dress on ‘The Tonight Show’
Tate McRae made her late night debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday. The pop star recently released her third album, “So Close to What.”
For the occasion, McRae embraced the sheer trend by wearing a stunning forest green rhinestone jersey dress designed by Alaïa. The dress featured a gathered skirt that added elegance to her look. She completed her outfit with black high-heeled sandals, styled by Brett Alan Nelson, who has also worked with artists like Doja Cat and Karol G.
During her conversation with host Jimmy Fallon, McRae shared insights about her collaboration with Sydney Sweeney for her album. The “Euphoria” star contributed her voice to McRae’s track titled “Miss Possessive.”
Collaboration with Sydney Sweeney
McRae explained the connection that led to their collaboration, saying, “Glen Powell, who I do Pilates with sometimes, he connected us.” She had met Sweeney backstage at “The Tonight Show” in December of 2023, which made their collaboration even more special.
“Sydney was such a legend,” McRae praised Sweeney’s dedication. “She just sent me 10 versions of this little voice memo thing, and it was like three days before the release. She was the absolute best for doing it.”
Working with The Kid Laroi
In addition to discussing her collaboration with Sweeney, McRae also talked about working with her boyfriend, Australian rapper The Kid Laroi. The couple, who began dating in 2024, teamed up on McRae’s song “I Know Love.”
Reflecting on their collaboration, McRae admitted, “It was a little nerve-racking. The first time we ever sang in front of each other was actually at my MSG show last year.” She recalled their experience in the studio, saying they both were unsure about who would sing first, just like during the soundcheck at her show.
This moment highlighted the blend of personal and professional aspects of their relationship, showcasing their growth as artists and partners.
