Aerosmith to Reunite for Special Performance After Tour Suspension

Published January 24, 2025

Aerosmith, the legendary rock band, will be reuniting for a special performance next month. This announcement comes just a few months after the group decided to stop touring due to health issues affecting their frontman, Steven Tyler.

Fans were left heartbroken when Aerosmith announced their retirement from live concerts following Tyler’s vocal cord injury during their "Peace Out" tour in 2023. The damage to his vocal cords led to complications, and doctors advised him against singing for a significant period.

Hints of a Reunion

Recently, bassist Tom Hamilton hinted at a potential reunion, suggesting the frontman’s health was improving. Reports indicate that the band will perform at Tyler's sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party.

This charity event is scheduled for February 2 and will be held at the Hollywood Palladium. While Tyler, Hamilton, and guitarist Joe Perry are confirmed to perform, it remains unclear if drummer Joey Kramer and guitarist Brad Whitford will join them.

Supporting Worthy Causes

The upcoming performance will benefit Janie's Fund, which assists young women and girls who have experienced abuse. It will also support the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and provide aid to firefighters affected by ongoing wildfires in the area.

Tyler stated, "What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable. Music has healing powers, and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires." He further emphasized the importance of supporting the work of Janie's Fund.

The Band's Ongoing Legacy

Aerosmith has been a staple of rock music since the 1970s, known for hits like "Hole In My Soul," "Amazing," "Crazy," and "Sweet Emotion." Despite facing challenges over the years, the band has maintained a significant presence in the music scene.

In earlier interviews, Hamilton expressed hope for Aerosmith's future after revealing that Tyler's recovery was progressing positively. However, he noted that any future activities would depend on Tyler's health, stressing that they will not push him to rush back into performing.

In the past, Hamilton had tempered expectations for a full tour when he mentioned that they would not be touring again. Still, he held onto hope that they might find opportunities for special appearances. As the band prepares for this special event, fans are optimistic about the possibility of seeing them perform together once more.
