Eighth Annual Eagle Radio Music Festival Set to Showcase Local Talent for FGCU Students

Published March 19, 2024

The Florida Gulf Coast University community is gearing up for the highly anticipated Eagle Radio Music Festival, scheduled for March 21st at the university's Library Lawn. Kicking off at 7 p.m., the event marks its eighth iteration, bringing together a dynamic slate of local artists and bands eager to display their musical prowess.

Exciting Lineup for Students

A diverse lineup awaits attendees, featuring up-and-coming talents including LUVXR, who will grace the Veterans Pavilion. Joining them are artists such as Sophia Lavigne, Joseph Fields, Holt & Cabe, Teahouse, Fiendish Thingies, DONEFOR, and SigFlo, all set to deliver memorable performances.

Festival Attractions

Beyond the music, the festival promises an engaging experience with free food while supplies last, and additional entertainment in the form of an airbrush tattoo artist and caricature artist. The event's lively atmosphere will be further amplified by the presence of Eagle Radio Programming Director Jake Schantz, who will take on the role of on-stage host and DJ for the evening.

New and Returning Acts

Among the performers is sophomore Digital Media Design student, Ayden Viera, who is no stranger to the Veterans Pavilion stage. Having performed at FGCU's Eagle Idol, Viera is excited about his debut at the music festival and is eager to engage with the student body through his music. This will also be a memorable return for local band DONEFOR, fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Parker Shrogen. With links to FGCU, the band enjoys introducing their unique sound to new audiences and looks forward to performing for the students once again.

Connecting with the Crowd

The event also serves as an opportunity for the participating artists and bands to connect with their fans. They are permitted to distribute their merchandise, fostering closer bonds with the attendees, although sales for profit are not allowed. The Eagle Radio Music Festival stands as a testament to the vibrancy of the local music scene and its growing relationship with FGCU students.
