Taylor Swift Distributes $197 Million in Bonuses to Eras Tour Staff

Published December 9, 2024

Taylor Swift expressed her gratitude towards her staff during the Eras Tour in an extraordinary manner.

Over the past two years, she allocated an impressive $197 million in bonuses to her crew. The recipients of these bonuses included truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, the merchandise team, lighting and sound personnel, production staff and their assistants, carpenters, dancers, band members, security teams, choreographers, pyrotechnics specialists, riggers, and the hair, makeup, wardrobe, and physical therapy teams, as well as the video crew.

Initially, the news of this generous gesture was reported by People.

Swift officially began her tour in March 2023. After concluding the North American leg in August, it was reported that she bestowed a remarkable $100,000 bonus to each of her truck drivers. The pop star is said to have given out a total of $5 million in bonuses, considering there were around 50 drivers in her touring convoy.

After taking a break for some rest, Swift resumed her travels, bringing her performances to audiences around the globe. Throughout late 2023 and into the summer, she toured South America, Asia, Europe, and the U.K. Earlier this year, she made a return to North America for additional shows before heading to Canada.

The Eras Tour has reached various milestones, becoming the highest-grossing tour in history. Recently, The New York Times revealed that the ticket sales for the tour had reached a staggering $2 billion, which is twice as much as the gross ticket sales of any previous concert tour.

In addition to her enormous profits from the tour, Swift has found success in other ventures. She released a concert film based on the Eras Tour after completing the North American section of the tour. This film was shown in theaters and subsequently made available on Disney+. Furthermore, she launched her new album The Tortured Poets Department before hitting the road for the European leg of the tour. Last month, she also published a photo book capturing moments from the performances, and it quickly became popular, selling nearly 1 million copies after just one week in Target.

On December 8, Swift concluded the Eras Tour after nearly two years of performances, with her final show in Vancouver. During this farewell performance, she thanked her fans for contributing to what she described as “the most thrilling chapter of my life to date — my beloved Eras Tour.”

Looking ahead, an insider recently shared with Us Weekly that Swift plans to take a break before starting work on her next album. There are also speculations about her possibly returning to touring in 2026.
