Marin Welcomes the Festive Season with Upcoming Holiday Music Events
As the holiday season approaches, Marin County is gearing up for a series of musical celebrations to spread cheer across the community. Music lovers have three exciting events to look forward to.
Corte Madera Town Band Annual Holiday Concert
The first of these events showcases the 40-piece Corte Madera Town Band, led by conductor Mark Nemoyten. The ensemble will grace the stage with its much-anticipated annual holiday concert. This festive event is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Corte Madera Community Center, situated at 498 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera. The best part? Admission is absolutely free, providing a perfect opportunity for the community to gather and revel in holiday melodies.
The 85's Debut Holiday Bash
Following on Saturday night, The 85’s, a quintet from Mill Valley, takes you on a nostalgic trip with their homage to the ‘80s. The band's first-ever annual Hometown Holiday Bash will kick off at 9 p.m. at the Sweetwater Music Hall, located at 19 Corte Madera Ave. in Mill Valley. For a ticket price of $20, attendees can enjoy a lineup that includes classics from iconic artists such as Madonna and Prince. This event is designed to be accessible to all ages, making it an ideal outing for the entire family.
A Jazzy Christmas with Maria Muldaur
To round off the holiday events, Mill Valley’s own singer-songwriter Maria Muldaur and her Jazzabelle Quintet are set to deliver a unique performance. They'll be interpreting rare Christmas jazz and blues tunes. Scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday, this concert is also happening at the Sweetwater Music Hall. With tickets available for $25, attendees can expect an evening filled with soulful renditions of holiday classics. This show, like The 85's event, is open to music fans of all ages.
