BeachLife Festival Brings Together Music, Culture, and Cuisine

Published April 30, 2024

The BeachLife Festival is set to return to Redondo Beach's Seaside Lagoon from May 3-5, promising a weekend full of musical performances, cultural experiences, and gourmet food. Over 40 acts will take the stage, including big names such as Sting, Incubus, and My Morning Jacket, as well as reggae and alt-music bands. This year's festival is eagerly anticipated, particularly with Sting's first festival appearance in Southern California in over two decades.

The Lineup Highlights

Day one features Sting, making it an iconic start to the festival. Other acts include Seal and the Dirty Heads, offering a blend of reggae influences that embody the BeachLife spirit. Day two will have Incubus and new wave icons Devo, styled as a 'fun hang day' focused on hits, culture, and community. The final day is geared towards dedicated music fans, presenting bands like ZZ Top and My Morning Jacket, with a mix of Latin flair from performers such as Tito Puente Jr. and Gaby Moreno.

Innovation and Nostalgia

In a surprising twist, the festival will introduce DJ sets on its Speakeasy Stage for the first time, featuring Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys and Paul Oakenfold. These additions infuse a modern vibe into the festival's traditionally nostalgia-driven lineup.

Exclusive Culinary Experiences

A unique element of BeachLife is the DAOU SideStage Experience, a luxury pop-up restaurant providing a multi-course meal prepared by celebrity chefs against a background of live music. This year, chefs Ian Gresik, Nyesha Arrington, and David Slay will be showcasing their culinary talents. The restaurant venue will change location to offer diners picturesque ocean views during the meal, enhancing the overall festival experience.
