As the Grammy Awards approach, the excitement isn't confined only to the main event. The week prior to the award show is bursting with activities and celebrations dedicated to the music industry. A variety of events scheduled by the Recording Academy will feature prominently in the lead-up, including a prestigious ceremony honoring Michael Kushner of Atlantic Records for his contributions.
Wednesday, January 31
A private event has been organized by the Recording Academy's Producers & Engineers and Songwriters & Composers Wings to celebrate the crafts involved in music creation. Taking place at the Grammy Museum at 7 p.m., this gathering is by invitation only.
Thursday, February 1
The recording industry's Black Music Collective will present the 2024 Recording Academy Honors at 7 p.m. at the Fairmont Century Plaza. This is another private event open solely to those with invitations.
Friday, February 2
Beginning at 11 a.m., Grammy U will conduct a Masterclass sponsored by Mastercard. This educational panel, although private, will be livestreamed starting at 1 p.m. for broader accessibility. Later that day, Michael Kushner will be honored at the 26th Annual Entertainment Law Initiative at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, an event exclusive to invitees.
The MusiCares Person of the Year accolade goes to Jon Bon Jovi, celebrated at a gala event at the Los Angeles Convention Center at 5 p.m. UnitedMasters caps off the day with a celebration featuring Uncle Waffles, Tokischa, and special guests at the Hollywood Palladium at 9:30 p.m. Attendance is again by invitation only.
Saturday, February 3
The week continues with the Special Merit Awards Ceremony and the 66th Annual Grammy Nominees Reception, taking place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre at 2:30 p.m. Later that evening, the Pre-Grammy Gala honors Jon Platt at The Beverly Hilton at 7 p.m., another private affair.
Sunday, February 4
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will start off the day at the Peacock Theater, with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. and the awards ceremony following at 12:30 p.m. The pinnacle of Grammy Week, the 66th Annual Grammy Awards Telecast, will take place at the Crypto.com Arena from 5 to 8:30 p.m., hosted by Trevor Noah.
The week concludes with the Grammy Celebration at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall. This post-awards event runs from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
