OKC Philharmonic Set for a Season of Musical Diversity in 2024-2025

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic has unveiled an exciting lineup for its 2024-2025 season featuring esteemed performances across its Classics and POPS series. The announcement includes appearances by distinguished artists and a varied musical program that promises to captivate audiences.

Classical Treats and Cultural Fusions

The Classics series promises eight remarkable productions with an illustrious start on September 21 hosting the celebrated violinist Midori. Followed by 'The Organ Symphony' with the acclaimed organist Cameron Carpenter on October 12, the lineup includes a unique Scottish melange with 'From the Highlands' featuring bagpipes on November 16. Pianist Misha Dichter and guest conductor Gerard Schwartz join forces for 'Dichter Plays Grieg' on January 11, 2025. Bringing an East-West symphonic blend is 'Symphonies East and West' with sitar virtuoso Arjun Verma on February 22, 2025. The famous violinist Sarah Chang will captivate audiences once more on March 15, and the season will also premiere the 'American Indian Symphony' by Chickasaw Nation citizen Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate on April 19, alongside performances by Kirsten Kunkle, Mark Billy, and the Canterbury Voices. The series concludes with the majestic 'An Alpine Symphony' paired with pianist Clayton Stephenson on May 17, 2025.

POPS Shows: A Festive Musical Journey

The Chickasaw Nation POPS series kicks off with 'Arrival From Sweden: The Music of Abba' on November 1 and 2, followed by 'A Very Merry Pops' featuring Ashley Brown and Tony Desare on December 6 and 7. The New Year brings 'Defying Gravity: Stephen Schwartz and Friends' on January 24 and 25, 2025, and global sensations 'Pink Martini and China Forbes' on their 30th Anniversary Season come March 7 and 8, 2025. Get ready to groove with 'The Music of Tina Turner' on April 11 and 12, and celebrate the tunes of legendary British composers with 'Music of the Knights' focusing on Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney on May 23 and 24, 2025. Additionally, a POPS event with Mariachi Los Camperos is upcoming, as well as the Inasmuch Foundation Classics spotlighting Johannes Brahms' works on February 3 and 4, leading to POPS Bravo Broadway on February 16 and 17.

Ending Note and Ticket Information

The auditorium also bids farewell to the traveling exhibit, '24 Works on Paper', on February 14, marking the end of its 18-month journey. Featuring works for sale by Oklahoma artists, it is currently displayed in the Tulsa World/Lorton Family Gallery of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
