Macaulay Culkin Emotional Over Kieran Culkin's Oscar Win
Macaulay Culkin shared his heartfelt reaction after his brother, Kieran Culkin, won Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the prestigious 2025 Oscars.
At the Vanity Fair Oscar party on March 2, Macaulay, aged 44, celebrated with his fiancée, Brenda Song, as they praised Kieran, who is 42 years old, for his remarkable performance in A Real Pain. Kieran's win placed him in the spotlight among other talented nominees including Yura Borisov, Edward Norton, Guy Pearce, and Jeremy Strong.
Macaulay humorously remarked to Tan France that he had only watched for Kieran's segment, saying, "Just the Best Supporting Actor, that’s the only thing I watched. True story, true story." When asked if he had connected with Kieran after the award, Macaulay revealed, "I cried. And I was like, ‘I’m gonna see you later.’"
He admitted he was uncertain if they would meet at the after party, jokingly referring to Kieran as a "busy man" and stating, "He’s Academy Award-winning actor Kieran Culkin."
Brenda, 36, expressed confidence in Kieran winning the award, saying, "Of course we expected him to win. Come on, let’s be real. We’re allowed to say that." Macaulay also highlighted Kieran’s prime seating at the ceremony, further indicating that there was no doubt about his success that evening.
During his acceptance speech, Kieran forgot to mention Macaulay but made sure to honor his wife, Jazz Charton. He shared a funny story about their discussion regarding having more children after his Emmy win for Succession. Kieran recalled that Jazz had promised him a third child if he won the Emmy, after which he jokingly mentioned wanting four children instead, leading to a playful agreement during his speech.
Kieran concluded his heartfelt talk by proclaiming his love for Jazz and playfully encouraging the idea of expanding their family, saying, "let’s get cracking on those kids, what do you say? I love you."
