Lady Gaga Announces New Album ‘Mayhem’: Release Date, Details, & More
It's an exciting day for Little Monsters. Lady Gaga has officially announced her latest album, Mayhem. This marks her seventh solo studio record and is scheduled to be released on March 7. Fans can pre-order a copy from the singer's official website.
This much-anticipated album is set to bring back Gaga's signature "darker" visual and musical style, reminiscent of her earlier work seen in The Fame Monster. The album will feature 14 tracks, including the earlier released singles "Disease" and her collaboration with Bruno Mars titled "Die With A Smile". Additionally, a third single is expected to drop on February 2, premiering during the commercial break of the upcoming Grammy Awards.
The news was shared through a press release along with social media updates from Gaga.
Details About Lady Gaga’s ‘Mayhem’
Currently, information on the album remains limited, but the release date is confirmed. In a previous interview with Vogue, Gaga explained what listeners can look forward to with Mayhem.
She described the album's sound as "chaotic from a genre perspective," emphasizing that it will be genre-bending and provide a deeply personal insight into her thoughts as a producer and how she views music. Gaga expressed that while creating this album, she draws upon her extensive knowledge of music history and the artists and producers who have influenced her. Thus, Mayhem aims to celebrate "the music that made me who I am." Furthermore, she assured fans that this album will feature a darker style of pop, similar to her earlier works such as The Fame Monster (2009) and Born This Way (2011).
In further discussions about the album, she clarified that Mayhem is not intended to be merely a nostalgic return but rather a reinvention of her previous sound. It will present a "kaleidoscopic approach," pulling from her extensive musical background while embracing a fresh and fearless artistic vision.
The production team for this album includes notable names such as Gesaffelstein, Cirkut, and Andrew Watt.
Gaga last released Harlequin, which serves as a companion to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, where she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix. In addition, Gaga will perform soon at the FireAid Benefit Concern in Los Angeles, and she is also set to headline Coachella later this year.
