Phish Set to Perform at the Sphere for a Four-Night Run in April

Published November 30, 2023

The renowned jam band, Phish, has announced a significant concert series scheduled for spring. Comprising frontman and guitarist Trey Anastasio, along with members Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell, the group is poised to grace the stage of the Sphere with their presence. These performances are locked in for four consecutive nights: April 18-21.

A Glimpse into the Sphere

After a much-anticipated wait, Phish heads will be able to revel in the band's live experience at the Sphere, a venue sporting cutting-edge technology that Anastasio has personally experienced. The band's engagement at the Sphere comes as the second act to be announced, following the trailblazing performance by U2.

Tickets for these exclusive shows will be up for grabs, with a request period already live on the band's ticketing website till December 11, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. General sale starts on December 15, at 10 a.m., with full ticketing details available on the band's official tour page.

What to Expect

Fans can anticipate a unique experience each night, with the promise of distinct set lists and production elements. Known for their ingenuity, Phish's performances are one-of-a-kind, reflective of their penchant for assuming 'musical costumes,' wherein they embody various themes or cover entire albums during their concerts, such as their enactment of David Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars” in 2016.

The Sphere will witness Phish's only performances at the venue in 2024, and Anastasio is on a mission to create unforgettable nights. According to his statement, the band is eager to exploit the Sphere's capabilities for a truly unique concert experience.

Prior to their Sphere debut, Phish has been linked to rumors of playing over New Year’s Eve. However, they've chosen to continue their tradition at Madison Square Garden, another entertainment venue managed by MSG Entertainment.

More Than Just Phish

While Phish's concerts are an immediate thrill for fans, the Sphere gears up for an exciting summer with discussions of Dead & Company potentially playing the venue. The Sphere may also welcome global superstar Harry Styles in the fall, contingent on his schedule, adding to the venue's diverse roster of performers.

Celebrating their 40th anniversary since forming in 1983, Phish has built a reputation on whimsical songwriting, extensive jam sessions, and their ability to seamlessly weave through various music genres. With 15 studio albums to date, the band has left an indelible mark in music history.
