Young Ambassadors Shine at BYU's Winterfest

Published March 20, 2024

Brigham Young University's Winterfest has become a beacon of entertainment during the colder months, offering a variety of dance and vocal performances. Held in the Conference Center Theater, the event spans across February and March, showcasing a wide array of talents.

Thank You for the Music

One of the highlights of Winterfest is the Young Ambassadors' show aptly named, "Thank you for the music." The group, which includes students like Mikenzie Moon, a fifth-year senior studying dance education, divides their performance into three different sections that celebrate some of the greatest musical hits.

Moon, who has dedicated herself to dance since the age of 10, considers this her final local performance with the Young Ambassadors. With years of diverse dance training and competitive experience, she stepped into the world of musical theater at BYU. "I'm just excited to have fun tonight and perform with the team and just soak every second up," she shared anticipating the night's show.

A Dream Come True

For Tanner Reeve, his first year as a Young Ambassador has been like a dream. With less dance experience, he was surprised to be selected but attributes part of his success to his natural charm. Reeve's enthusiasm for his duet, where he and another performer sing a love song in a humorous fashion, reflects the joy he finds in being a member of the group. "I auditioned for this, got in the group and it made me realize that I don't ever have to stop... it's something I can do forever," he expressed.

As Winterfest continues to enchant audiences, the Young Ambassadors prepare for their final show of the season in St. George, set for April. With talent and passion evident in each performance, BYU's Winterfest remains a vibrant celebration of the arts.
