Meghan Markle Confident in Success of 'With Love, Meghan' Netflix Series
Meghan Markle is embracing an optimistic outlook regarding her upcoming Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan." The Duchess of Sussex, aged 43, recently unveiled the first trailer for the show, which highlights her talents in cooking and gardening, featuring appearances from various celebrity friends.
However, due to the severe fires affecting parts of Los Angeles, the launch of the series has been postponed from its original date of January 15 to March 4.
Despite this unexpected change, insiders report that Markle remains confident the series will be a hit. According to sources, she believes the project will be well-received, stating, "She is so confident it’s going to do well and she will get the accolades she deserves for it, which will finally shut some people up. She can’t wait.”
The source also noted that Markle’s background as an actress plays a significant role in her strong belief in the success of her new venture. "She has always been confident in her own abilities and while her confidence took a knock when she was in the royal family, she is riding high again and she’s so proud of this show," the insider remarked.
Regarding the content of the show, it appears that Markle does not prominently mention her royal connections during filming. The source added, "People tend to underestimate her, but Meghan knows what the audience wants and she is giving them that with this show."
Markle’s approachable nature, where she listens and cares for others, is expected to resonate with the audience. An insider pointed out, "People always open up to her because she listens and cares. She knows the audience will warm to her if they give the show a chance.”
Directed by Michael Steed, the series comprises eight episodes, each lasting approximately 33 minutes. Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, produced the project under their Archewell Productions company.
When announcing the delay caused by the wildfires, Markle expressed gratitude to her Netflix partners for their support, saying, "I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California." The series will showcase the former royal cooking alongside notable friends, including Mindy Kaling and her former "Suits" co-star, Abigail Spencer.
Meghan Markle completed filming for the show in July. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a significant $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020, with the future of their contract remaining uncertain as it approaches its end this summer.
