Take That Kick Off Australian Tour in Perth
Take That, the iconic boy band, defined the teenage years of many Millennials. With their signature looks, baggy pants, and energetic dance moves, they captured the hearts of fans around the world.
After more than 30 years since their debut, the band has reunited for a new tour. They launched their This Life on Tour at Perth’s RAC Arena, featuring three out of the original five members: Howard Donald, Gary Barlow, and Mark Owen.
Despite being a mid-week show, the RAC Arena was almost filled to its capacity of 15,500 seats. Fans, eager to relive their youth, came together to sing, dance, and celebrate the music that defined a generation.
The band’s last big reunion was back in 2010 when they performed at Wembley Stadium for eight nights, setting a record for the highest grossing residency at the time.
While Take That may be older and a bit less agile than they were in the 90s, they know how to engage an audience. Their set included not just newer songs but also many of their earlier hits, which sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Classic tracks like Pray, Shine, A Million Love Songs, Everything Changes, and Back For Good resonated strongly with the audience, sparking waves of nostalgia. The absence of Jason Orange and Robbie Williams didn’t diminish the excitement, as Gary, Mark, and Howard filled the stage with their vibrant performance.
Opening for them was fellow British artist Sophie Ellis-Bextor, known for her hit Murder on the Dance Floor, who successfully warmed up the eager crowd.
Following their shows in Perth, the band will continue their tour in South Australia, Melbourne, and Sydney, before moving on to Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan.
After 35 years, Take That remains one of the most beloved boy bands from the 90s, proving that they still know how to entertain and inspire their fans.
