Marcus King Introduces New Tune from Upcoming ‘Mood Swings’ Album on Jimmy Fallon's Show
Fans of Marcus King are eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new album titled Mood Swings, set to release in less than a month. Ahead of its launch, King has revealed three tracks, including 'F—k My Life Up Again,' 'Hero,' and the album's namesake track, each offering a glimpse into the album's musical direction. The anticipation ramped up on the evening of March 11 when King graced the stage of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to present a brand new song from the album.
Marcus King's Memorable Tonight Show Performance
King showcased his multi-instrumental talents by starting off the performance on a white grand piano, accompanied by a trio of backup singers and an organist, which set the stage for his soulful voice to shine. The spotlight then shifted as King moved away from the piano to join his band and deliver a dynamic guitar solo, further energizing the audience.
A New Direction in 'Mood Swings'
Though known for his impressive guitar skills, King's forthcoming album, Mood Swings, represents a slight shift in focus with the intention to highlight his vocal prowess and heartfelt songwriting. The new song 'Delilah' is a prime example of this evolution, combining the familiar strain of his blues-rock guitar in the latter portion of the track with the deeper layers of his artistry.
