Dua Lipa Cancels Jakarta Concert Due to Safety Issues
Fans in Indonesia were left disappointed as Dua Lipa's concert scheduled for November 9 has been cancelled. After much anticipation, the fans were eager to see the singer perform live, however, safety concerns arose leading to the unfortunate decision.
Dua Lipa took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share her regret about the cancellation. She expressed her sorrow in a message stating, "I am here in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging." She further described her disappointment, highlighting how much she was looking forward to the show, especially since it had been a long time since her last performance in Jakarta.
Following her announcement, the event organizers released a detailed statement providing more clarity on the situation. They mentioned that despite the team's hard work to address critical issues concerning the stage structure supplied by Mata Elang Productions, it was concluded that it was unsafe to proceed with the performance. The decision to cancel was made with great care, prioritizing the safety of both the audience and the artist.
For those who purchased tickets, organizers confirmed that all ticket holders are eligible for a refund. However, they will need to submit formal refund requests, which will be accepted from November 11 to November 30. Details for the refund request form will be sent to the email provided during the ticket purchase process.
As of now, no new date has been announced for the concert. Fans remain hopeful that Dua Lipa will be able to reschedule the show before her Radical Optimism Tour set for 2025.
