Logic1000 Discusses How Therapy Revolutionized Her Touring Life

Published January 11, 2024

Music producer and DJ Logic1000, who is also known as Samantha Poulter, recently shared her journey through therapy and how it profoundly altered her approach to touring and performing. Taking a break from live shows for 10 months in 2023, she invested time in intensive therapy, resulting in a significant transformation in her well-being.

Embracing a New Perspective

During an insightful interview, Poulter reflected on the transformative power of therapy, stating, "It changed me – it was a total paradigm shift." She looked back at her past self, recognizing a stark contrast, "I was so scared and frail in my mind; I had no sense of safety or confidence or trust. Now I have all of those things, and I see good in the world."

Confronting Mental Health Challenges

Poulter has openly discussed her previous mental health diagnosis, which includes schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. Celebrating the lifting of her Forensic Order, she marked it as the starting point of her musical journey. Her recent therapy experiences shifted focus from her schizophrenia, which she considers well-managed and a part of her past, to other aspects of her mental health.

Inspiration and Motherhood

As an artist preparing for the release of her debut album 'Mother', Poulter also created a playlist titled 'Favourite Songs by Mothers', featuring artists like Solange and Sade. Becoming a mother herself has impacted her creative process immensely. "After I had given birth, it felt more deliberate to want to create," she shares. The album is a testament to her work and something she can proudly share with her daughter in the future.
