Published January 20, 2024

The Polish community in Fuengirola is gearing up to host the annual Polish Great Christmas Solidarity Orchestra Party at the Cepyme stand within the Fuengirola Fair Grounds. Scheduled for Sunday, January 28, this event aims to bring people together for a noble cause of raising funds for Polish hospitals.

Charitable Initiative for Healthcare

This event is part of a coordinated global effort by the Polish community to raise funds on the same day worldwide. The proceeds are allocated towards purchasing vital health materials for hospitals in Poland. Having a significant presence only in Madrid and Fuengirola on the Iberian Peninsula, the local Polish community members are proud to contribute to this cause.

Activities and Celebrations

The festivities commence at 2pm, offering an array of activities including concerts, charity auctions, and a book and toy market. Additionally, there will be tastings of traditional Polish cuisine to share a piece of Polish culture with the attendees. Councilors for Fiestas and Social Welfare, Isabel Moreno and Cristina Bornao, along with Janina Ferlin, representing the Gran Orquesta Solidaria de Navidad association in Fuengirola, highlighted the mix of cultural showcase and philanthropy of the event.

A Show of Solidarity and Culture

Cristina Bornao outlined the town hall's commitment to supporting social events, especially ones that enrich the community's cultural tapestry while supporting global initiatives like this. Janina Ferlin extends a hearty invitation to all Fuengirola residents to join in and support. She mentions the significant sums raised previously, emphasizing the impact of such charity efforts on Poland's healthcare system.

Isabel Moreno noted the strong Polish community in Fuengirola and encouraged attendance to enjoy the rich Polish traditions and support the cause. With nearly two thousand Polish inhabitants in Fuengirola, the event is a testament to the town's diversity and unity in social causes.
