Metallica's Epic Mexico City Show Comes to Apple Vision Pro

Published March 12, 2025

Metallica is ready to take their fans on an incredible journey as they bring their powerful performance from Mexico City to viewers worldwide. This exciting news comes from Apple, who announced that starting this Friday, Metallica's concert will be available through a breathtaking immersive experience on the Apple Vision Pro video headset.

The concert will showcase some of Metallica's most famous hits, including “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman.” This special event was recorded during the last sold-out show of their M72 World Tour last year, giving fans a chance to feel like they are right in the middle of the action.

Using high-resolution, 180-degree video and immersive spatial audio, viewers will find themselves much closer to the band. They will experience Metallica members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo as if they were front row at the concert. According to Tor Myhren, vice president of marketing communications at Apple, the immersive experience allows fans to feel as though they are backstage or even on stage with the band.

To capture this unique experience, Apple has designed a custom stage layout featuring 14 special video cameras, including cameras that move around the stage, providing a dynamic viewing perspective.

For those who do not yet have the $3,500 Vision Pro headset, there is still an opportunity to experience Metallica's performance. Customers can book a demo at their local Apple store to get a taste of this immersive concert.

In addition to Metallica, other exclusive performances available on the Vision Pro include artists like Alicia Keys and Raye. The Weeknd has also shared his immersive music experience titled “The Weeknd: Open Hearts.”
