Wu-Tang Clan Heat Up CES with Sizzling Private Show at The Venetian

Published January 13, 2024

On a vibrant Wednesday night, the Wu-Tang Clan ignited a musical inferno at Voltaire, The Venetian, leaving their mark on CES. With the swagger of hip-hop royalty, they declared from the stage, "We are the Black Beatles!" eliciting a thunderous response from the 600-strong assembly of Yahoo employees.

The notorious rap ensemble plunged into a dynamic rendition of "Come Together," their energy matched by the crowd's chant of the song's iconic lines. Thereby kicking off an electric hourlong set that served as a prelude to their upcoming "Wu-Tang Clan: The Saga Continues … The Las Vegas Residency" slated to begin at The Theater at Virgin Hotels on February 9-10.

As CES wrapped up its yearly festivities in Las Vegas, it was clear that the Wu-Tang Clan concert was the most sought-after private event of the convention, with a wait list more than double the capacity of the venue. The evening also spotlighted Voltaire as an exceptional corporate event space, impressing everyone in its first-ever outing for a convention event.

The Wu-Tang Clan, comprising notable members like RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and honoring the memory of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB), took to the stage around 11 p.m. Their performance was filled with nostalgic tributes and unifying messages, including a heartfelt homage to ODB.

With the crowd rallying with No. 1 signs, the Wu-Tang Clan unleashed "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," stirring an even deeper connection with the audience as the song's title resonated with Yahoo's namesake.
