Rick Springfield Discovers Brain Damage from Fall 25 Years Ago
Rick Springfield has recently revealed a troubling discovery: he has brain damage resulting from a fall that occurred 25 years ago.
The Incident During a Concert
In a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the famous Australian-American singer shared details about a severe accident that happened during one of his concerts in Las Vegas in 2000. While performing, Springfield fell from a height of 25 feet. He recounted that he hit his head multiple times during the fall: first on the floor, then as wood fell and struck him again, and finally, his head connected with the stage once more.
Initial Thoughts and Recent Findings
At the time of the incident, Springfield believed he had only broken his wrist. However, after undergoing a full-body MRI scan recently, he was shocked to learn that he also sustained brain damage from the fall. He commented on this revelation, saying, "On the scan I found out I have some brain damage from the fall, so I’m working on trying to repair that."
Exploring New Treatment Options
To address his brain damage, Springfield has begun experimenting with alternative treatments, including the use of ketamine and LSD. He aims to see if these substances can help improve his condition. This new approach stems from a personal experience: his father's passing, which he attributes to his father's refusal to seek medical help. Springfield feels this message resonates with him deeply. "If you want to live long, you have to be prepared for some bad news now and then," he explained.
Upcoming Tour
In spite of his health challenges, Springfield remains active in his music career. He is set to begin the 'I Want My ’80s' tour alongside other artists like John Waite, Wang Chung, Paul Young, and John Cafferty. The tour will span over 30 dates across North America, kicking off on March 19 and running through August 10.
