Campbell Announces Cancellation of Summer Concert Series Due to Construction
Summer Concert Series Called Off
In a disappointing turn of events for music lovers, the City of Campbell has declared that this year's summer concert series will not be going ahead. The cause for this cancellation is attributed to the extensive construction works that are taking place at the Campbell Library and the ongoing establishment of the new Police Department facility. These projects are happening in proximity to the Orchard City Green, which is the traditional location for the annual concerts and is situated near the renowned Ainsley House.
However, the city has noted that other musical events in the vicinity, like the street performances that enliven Campbell Avenue, will continue unimpeded by the construction.
Lunar New Year Event for Seniors
In other community news, Campbell is extending an invitation to its senior residents above 50 years old to join in the Lunar New Year festivities commemorating the Year of the Dragon. The event is scheduled for February 23 and promises a spread catered by Golden Harvest alongside performances orchestrated by the Chinese Performing Arts of America. Interested parties should note that the celebration takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Orchard City Banquet Hall, which is located at 1 W. Campbell Avenue. Tickets are priced at $20 and need to be secured by 4 p.m. on February 16th, with no tickets being sold at the door.
Saluting Music Legends
Gearing up for a musical homage, Campbell's Heritage Theatre is preparing to host various tribute bands, each paying respect to different musical icons. Fans of the '70s band Bread can experience the tribute act Toast on February 22, where they will bring to life hits such as "Make it with You", "If", and "Everything I Own". The following day, attendees can relish some classic Bob Seger tunes with Classic Seger. Later, in March and April, tribute performances for Johnny Cash and Paul McCartney respectively will offer nostalgic vibes at the Heritage Theatre, also located at 1 W. Campbell Ave. Music enthusiasts are encouraged to get their tickets from the Heritage Theatre's event calendar online.
