Published March 19, 2024

The indie rock band Vampire Weekend is set to bring a unique viewing experience to fans by livestreaming a concert coinciding with a total solar eclipse. This celestial-themed event will take place at Moody Amphitheater in Austin, Texas, on the afternoon of Monday, April 8, with a start time of 12pm local time (5pm UK time). The performance is promised to last around two and a half hours.

Solar Eclipse Meets Live Music

During the concert, a notable highlight will be the occurrence of complete darkness for approximately two minutes at 1:36pm local time as the moon blocks the sun. This astronomical event is expected to cast a shadow over parts of North America, including the concert location.

Stream Details and New Album Promotion

Fans across the globe will have the opportunity to join in on this special show through a livestream hosted on the Veeps platform. Admission to the virtual event is free, and tickets can be obtained online.

This show arrives just in time to celebrate Vampire Weekend's upcoming fifth album 'Only God Was Above Us', which is scheduled for release just three days prior to the concert. Their latest single 'Classical' was recently unveiled, following on the heels of 'Capricorn' and 'Gen-X Cops'.
