Post Malone Affirms His Commitment to Country Music at Nashville’s Big Bash

Published January 1, 2025

Post Malone has established himself as a major star for almost ten years. This past year, he took a significant step into the world of country music after years of hinting at this direction. He collaborated with several prominent artists in the genre to release his debut country album, F-1 Trillion. Following that, he unveiled a deluxe edition featuring songs that lean towards traditional country, showcasing his admiration for the genre's roots. His performance at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash served as a strong message: he's here to stay.

Initially, there were skeptics who questioned Malone’s genuine interest in country music when he began to drop singles from F-1 Trillion. However, he continuously demonstrated his dedication to the genre, proving that he wasn’t just seeking a profitable opportunity. Instead, he had a long-standing desire to create country music and finally got the chance to fulfill that ambition. His live performance during Nashville’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration further solidified his commitment.

Post Malone's Captivating Performance

For the event, Post Malone opted for a different setting than the primary stage at Bicentennial Park, performing his hit song “I Had Some Help” at Robert’s Western World. While the recorded version of the song featured fellow artist Morgan Wallen, Malone successfully captivated the country audience on his own this time.

2024: A Monumental Year for Post Malone

The year 2024 was outstanding not just for Malone but for the country music genre as a whole, with many artists contributing to its burgeoning popularity. Malone released chart-topping singles and an impressive album, solidifying his place in the country music scene. Notably, he collaborated with legendary country artist Dwight Yoakam on Yoakam’s latest album, further demonstrating his dedication.

This year, Malone dominated music charts with his singles “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, and “Pour Me a Drink,” featuring Blake Shelton. “I Had Some Help” enjoyed a remarkable run, holding the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for four weeks and topping the Hot Country Songs chart for seven weeks. It even reached the No. 1 position on the all-genre Hot 100 for six weeks.

Meanwhile, “Pour Me a Drink” achieved the No. 12 spot on the Hot 100 and reached No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart, remaining at the top of the Country Airplay chart for three weeks.

In addition to his singles, Malone also featured on Taylor Swift’s track “Fortnight,” which earned a two-week reign on the Hot 100.

As of now, Malone has not announced any new music for 2025. However, he is gearing up for an exciting Big Ass Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell, set to kick off in April.
